As you remember in my other page about the Northern lights/Southern lights are formed..I will take that step farther on...
The colors of the Northern lights
Yellows and greens..the most seen colors are form when oxygen is hit with the electrons and protons..
Blues and purples...Are formed when ionized molecular nitrogen is hit with electrons and protons..
Reds,pinks,vivid reds..Are formed when oxygen and nitrogen becomes excited from the same processes above..
There will be many times one will not see the reds,pinks,and purples..Nevertheless the camera will pick up on them...This another whole page...Maybe later I will cover that...
As most of you know,one of my goals are to become an self taught expert on the subject.Along with becoming one of the best USA Northern lights photographer....So far I'm heading toward this goal.
